Presidents of Bolivia and Cuba
Havana, Nov 8 (RHC) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel today congratulated his Bolivian counterpart, Luis Arce, on his second year in office.
Arce was elected with 55.11 percent of the votes and took office on November 8, 2020.
Having inherited from the de facto government of Jeanine Áñez the state coffers with negative indicators and a marked indebtedness, he promoted economic reconstruction with a strategy aimed at consolidating industrialization with import substitution and emphasis on income redistribution, reports the agency Prensa Latina.
As a result of this policy, Bolivia's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 6.1 percent in 2021 and the nominal GDP reached US$40,703 million; these results, together with the permanent inauguration of economic works in the nine departments of the country, and the implementation of national social projects, make the president the Bolivian politician who enjoys the greatest support.
