Cuban Foreign Minister celebrates CARICOM-Cuba Day

Havana, Dec 8 (RHC) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez celebrated Thursday the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Day with Cuba, founded from the determination of Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, and Trinidad, and Tobago to establish diplomatic relations with our country, 50 years ago.

"Together on the path of a united Caribbean, we will continue to consolidate our brotherhood and solidarity," the foreign minister said on Twitter, regarding the significance of this day in the history of the region.

The celebrations are part of the Caribbean tour of the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel, which included visits to St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Barbados, and Grenada.

During the VIII CARICOM-Cuba Summit dedicated to the half-century of these bilateral relations, the president valued the event as a reunion between Caribbean brothers to continue strengthening the ties of friendship, respect, mutual support, solidarity, and cooperation for the welfare of the people.
