Havana, Dec 20 (RHC) Cuban and European diplomats celebrated today the fifth anniversary of the implementation of the Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement (ADPC) between Cuba and the European Union (EU).

On his Twitter account, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Cuban Foreign Minister, reported that the commemoration event was attended by Isabel Brilhante Pedrosa, EU ambassador to the West Indian nation, as well as heads of Cuban diplomatic missions in EU member countries.

At the meeting, progress was noted in the ties between Cuba and the EU, on the basis of equality, reciprocity, common interest, and mutual respect, as well as the sovereignty of the parties, all principles of the Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement, said the head of the Minrex in a second message.

Cuba and the EU relaunched their relations in 2016 with the signing of the Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement that put an end to 20 years of the so-called common position, which conditioned the EU bloc's relations to demands that Cuba considered unacceptable.

The agreement allowed for increased cooperation and generated opportunities for exchanges on issues of mutual interest. (Source: ACN)
