Both parties agreed on the good state of trade relations between their countries.

Havana, Jan 11 (RHC) Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Josefina Vidal affirmed Wednesday that our country and Canada continue to strengthen their trade and investment ties.

Vidal reported on her Twitter profile about a meeting with the vice president of Canadian Commercial Corporation (CanComCorp), Diane Montambault, visiting Havana, with whom she held a fruitful dialogue.

Trade exchanges between both nations have been uninterrupted for more than 100 years and the Caribbean Island is Canada's largest export market in Central America and the Caribbean.

According to the ambassador of that northern country in Havana, Geoff Gartshore, in a recent interview granted to Prensa Latina, that collaboration expands to sectors such as mining, health, food, energy, tourism, agriculture, trade, and culture, among others.

He added that his nation is also the second source of foreign direct investment in Cuba and the main emitter of tourists to the island, so there is much willingness on both sides to continue exploring new horizons.

"We reject the idea that one state can impose extraterritorial regulations on another because the consequences also reach third countries such as ours, whose ties with Cuba have a special dimension", Gartshore pointed out. (Source: Prensa Latina)
