Havana, January 28 (RHC)-- The closing day of the 5th International Conference For the Balance of the World, held at the Havana Convention Palace, began on Saturday with the attendance of Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel.

Prior to his participation in the morning panels on the thought and imprint of José Martí, the president spoke with delegates of the event, which brings together on this occasion more than a thousand researchers, politicians and intellectuals from nearly 90 nations.

On the 170th anniversary of the birth of Cuba's National Hero, Díaz-canel recalled his imprint on the country's development, and then joined this forum of plural dialogue that began its Saturday agenda with a lecture by David Choquehuanca, Vice President of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, who referred to the necessary return to achieve balance.

Likewise, the Cuban leader plans to participate in the intervention of Panamanian professor Guillermo Castro Herrera, member of the World Council of the José Martí Project of International Solidarity and in the presentation of awards by the Office of the Martiano Program.

On the previous day, the President attended the conclave and intervened in the Congress of the New International Economic Order, which was part of the meeting's program, as reported by the Presidency of the Republic on the social network Twitter.

Accompanied by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez, the head of state witnessed the magnitude of the event, which brought together 1,100 delegates from nearly 90 nations, who endorsed the full validity of Marti's thought in forging a world of equity and inclusion.

The program of the event included keynote lectures, a youth forum, the second colloquium of historians, a congress on the new international order and an intergovernmental panel to address climate change, and a meeting of Marti's chairs.
