Paris, Feb 11 (RHC) Cuba will receive children from several countries in July as part of the French People's Relief (SPF) project Peoples Friends of the World, confirmed organizers of the initiative that promotes solidarity from an early age.

The director of the "Ernesto Che Guevara" Pioneers Central Palace, Nuris Concepción, told Prensa Latina that this facility located in Havana creates the conditions to host the project for the first time, with participants between 8 and 15 years old from France, Haiti, El Salvador, and Nicaragua, in addition to local children and adolescents.

We have high expectations for this meeting, scheduled in a villa of the Palace, which we hope to develop after the impossibility of doing it before because of the Covid-19 pandemic, said Concepción, who is currently visiting the French People's Relief (SPF) accompanied by the specialist of the Ministry of Education Yainelis Sanchez.

According to the directive, during their stay in France, they learned about the experiences of the Pueblos Amigos del Mundo, an initiative that was celebrated for its objectives of developing solidarity, coexistence, and responsibility through concrete actions, as well as promoting cultural exchange.

Concepción pointed out that the pedagogical program is ready, nourished with the work of the "Ernesto Che Guevara" Central Pioneer Palace, an institution inaugurated in 1979 with the mission of bringing elementary and high school students closer to professions and trades, a work that links 18 ministries.

In the Pueblos Amigos del Mundo that we will develop in Cuba, we will provide a nice experience to the participants, because of the opportunity to enter a universe of professions and trades, some more known than others, but all of them important in any society, she stressed.

Regarding the works to rehabilitate the headquarters facility, she highlighted the ongoing project financed by the SPF, which will allow improving the conditions and reception capacities for future editions.

In statements to Prensa Latina, SPF international projects specialist Olga Álvarez also showed expectations for Cuba's incorporation into the initiative. (Source: PL)
