National Garden of Cuba
Havana, March 24 (RHC) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel congratulated on his Twitter account, the workers of the National Garden of Cuba on the 55th anniversary of its foundation.
Today, 55 years after those first days of 1968, the National Botanical Garden covers some 600 hectares with more than 40 km of roads, where hundreds of thousands of trees of 4,000 species are planted, and the flora of Cuba and other countries are represented.
The National Botanical Garden is located south of Havana, about 22 km from its center. It is an educational, scientific and recreational institution belonging to the University of Havana. It provides environmental education to its visitors and contributes to scientific research and conservation of plants and fungi, as well as the teaching of Botany at the university level.
