United Nations, August 30 (RHC)-- Cuba has denounced at the United Nations the full enforcement of the U.S. economic, commercial and financial blockade, particularly the imposition of fines on entities that have commercial relations with Havana.
Cuba’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations circulated a press release on Friday, exposing the most recent extraterritorial impact by the blockade on the financial area, which forced the Bank of Ireland to do money transfers from that country to Cuba due to the relations that the Irish institution maintains with US banks.
The measure has been applied although neither Ireland nor the European Union have imposed any restrictions to their relations with Cuba and runs contrary to numerous UN resolutions rejecting the US anti-Cuba unilateral and extraterritorial policy.
The Cuban permanent mission denounced that the US blockade is aimed at inflicting suffering on the Cuban people as part of a illegal policy that is also contrary to International Law.
