Rome, Jul 22 (RHC) The Roman neighborhood of Ostia is hosting a festival of friendship with Cuba from this Friday to Sunday, July 23, to strengthen ties between the peoples of Italy and that Caribbean nation.
Italian writer Roberto Fraschetti told Prensa Latina that a sample of the Cuban culture, including photo exhibitions, films, book launches, and concerts, will be presented in that community during these three days.
Fraschetti pointed out that this festival was possible thanks to the joint effort of the Julio Antonio Mella Circle belonging to the Italy-Cuba Friendship Association (ANAIC), supported by the Cuban Embassy in this country and sponsored by the authorities of the X Municipio in this capital.
The RomaNatura organization, Ostia Mare of Rome, Federbalneari, the Onlus 8 de Marzo Cultural Association, A.C. Severiana, the Ostia Association, and the Center for Italy-Cuba Studies, among other groups, are also included.
Friday’s activities will pay tribute to Italian revolutionary fighter and photographer Tina Modotti, writer and screenwriter Cesare Zavattini will be honored on July 22, and Cuban-born Italian writer Italo Calvino, leading figures of the intellectual and artistic scene, will be reminded on Sunday.
