President of Cuba with intense agenda in South Africa
Havana, Aug 24 (RHC) The President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, held meetings this Thursday and greeted various leaders who are attending the BRICS Summit in Johannesburg, in South Africa.
The island's president met with the president of the African Union and the Comoros - a country made up of three islands in southeastern Africa -, Azali Assoumani.
Both leaders discussed the relations between the two countries, also united by ties with Africa. Díaz-Canel reiterated the invitation to participate in the Summit of the Group of 77 plus China to be held in Havana next September. For his part, Azali Assoumani spoke of making an official visit to the Caribbean nation.
The Cuban president also spoke with the president of the Bank of the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa), Dilma Rousseff, about the possibility of carrying out joint projects.
He also exchanged with the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, whom he thanked for the credits granted by his nation to develop renewable energy and rice cultivation on the island. (Source: PL)
