Chocolate with Coffee Festival in Cuba will have international reach
Havana, Oct 3 (RHC) The 7th edition of the Chocolate with Coffee Festival, based in the eastern Cuban province of Guantánamo, will have international reach for the first time.
In a meeting with the press, the organizers of the event stated that the cultural event will take place from November 30 to December 4.
Elio Omar Fuentes, director of Culture of that territory, reported that this version will be a new opportunity for Cuban and other countries' artists and intellectuals to share their art with those who work every day in the production and harvest of the aromatic fruits of the field that give the event its name.
The coffee festival in Guantánamo includes business rounds, contract signings and forums on foreign collaboration and investments.
On this occasion, the celebration will be dedicated to the 153rd anniversary of the designation of Guantánamo as a town; to the 20 years of artistic life of the singer-songwriter Waldo Mendoza, honorary president and founder of the Festival; and to the role of agroforestry women, for their contribution to the sustainable development of coffee and cocoa activities.
Other actions will also be developed, such as a national graphic humor show and contest, as well as cultural initiatives that will extend to communities, universities, municipalities and a meeting of entrepreneurial women in the agroforestry sector.
At the Chocolate with Coffee festival, all genres of Cuban music come together, particularly those with their identity roots in the Guantánamo region such as Nengón, Kiribá, Changüí, traditional Son, along with actions linked to other artistic manifestations. (Source: PL)
