Havana, November 24 (RHC) -- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel ratified Friday his country's commitment to address any human rights issue on the basis of mutual respect and cooperation.

This was stated by the president when he received on Friday the European Union's special representative for Human Rights, Eamon Gilmore, who traveled to the Caribbean nation to participate in the IV dialogue on the matter that is part of the Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement between the Caribbean nation and the integrationist bloc.

According to a national television report, Díaz-Canel and Gilmore reviewed the results of the short but intense visit of the European official, particularly the results of the IV dialogue, which they described as an important contribution to the strengthening of bilateral ties.

The head of state stressed that the EU representative's stay in Havana confirms the existing level of political relations and cooperation.

As part of the round of dialogues, several agreements were reached on technical exchanges and cooperation projects in various areas of human rights (Source: Prensa Latina).
