Havana, February 20 (RHC) -- The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel, reiterated Tuesday his denunciation of US complicity in the Israeli genocide against Palestine.
In his profile on the social network X, the president referred to Washington's veto today of a new resolution, presented by Algeria, which demanded an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and an end to the forced displacement of the Palestinian population.
Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez also rejected the attitude of the northern power, which for the third time used its veto power against the initiatives of several countries to stop the massacre that has caused the death of some 30,000 Palestinians since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on 7 October.
"It is repudiating the complicity of the United States government with Israel's genocide in Palestine", the Cuban foreign minister said in X.
On this occasion, the United Kingdom abstained, while the other 13 countries voted in favor.
The International Court of Justice (ICJ) began a review of the legality of Israel's occupation of the Palestinian territories last night in a process requested of the court by the UN General Assembly.
The six-day hearings will examine the consequences of the occupation, in a separate process from the case brought by South Africa that accuses Tel Aviv of committing genocidal acts during its ongoing offensive in Gaza.
