Minister of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces visits Belarus

Minsk, Jul 2 (RHC) The minister of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR), Alvaro Lopez Miera, is visiting Minsk, the Belarusian deputy defense minister for international military cooperation, Valery Revenko, said on Tuesday.

 Revenko told BelTA on Tuesday that Miera arrived in Minsk to take part in celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders by the Red Army.

The FAR minister is the head of the Cuban delegation that will take part in the events and the military parade to be held in Minsk on 3 July, the Belarusian deputy minister said.

More than 5,000 servicemen and over 300 vehicles are expected to take part in the parade, as well as Russian aviation in the air part of the show.

In addition to the Belarusian military, representatives of the armed forces of Azerbaijan, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will take part in the parade. (Source: Prensa Latina)
