Cuba congratulates Belarus on the occasion of its National Day
Havana, July 3 (RHC) The Cuban Foreign Ministry today congratulated Belarus, through social networks X and Facebook, on the 80th anniversary of that nation's liberation from the Nazi invasion.
We congratulate the people and government of the Republic of Belarus on the occasion of its National Day, reads a message from the Foreign Ministry.
Cuba reiterates its will to strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation between both nations, it adds.
The head of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Cuba, Alvaro Lopez, heads a delegation visiting Minsk, the capital of the country, to participate in the events and the military parade of the celebrations.
More than five thousand soldiers and more than 300 vehicles are scheduled to take part in the parade. Russian aviation is also expected to participate in the aerial part of the parade.
In addition to the Belarusian military, representatives of the armed forces of Azerbaijan, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will also take part.
With a population of over nine million inhabitants, Belarus, the thirteenth largest country in Europe, is bordered to the northwest by Lithuania and Latvia, to the northeast and east by Russia, to the south by Ukraine and to the west by Poland. (Source: PL)
