Havana, Nov 14 (RHC) The Hero of the Republic of Cuba and president of the Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), Fernando González, paid tribute to Fidel Castro, the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, during his visit to Moscow.
According to the Antillean hero, the visit to this place of remembrance for Fidel is a way to relive the years of friendship and solidarity between both nations, and also a sign of gratitude to Russia for erecting a monument in memory of Fidel.
After the visit, the president of ICAP and his delegation arrived at the headquarters of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, where they signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions.
The text expresses the intention to expand cooperation in various areas and to continue working for common Russian and Cuban causes.
As a culmination of the day, González will attend the International Conference for the 60th Anniversary of the Founding of the Russian Society of Friendship with Cuba, where he will deliver a message of recognition to the organization sent by Cuban president Miguel Díaz-Canel.
