Caracas, December 1 (RHC-PL) -- Twenty-five doctors from Venezuela are traveling to Cuba to receive training and join the doctors who are fighting the Ebola virus in West Africa.

Venezuelan Public Health Minister Nancy Perez said that this is the first group of more than 100 volunteers who enlisted to make this task a reality.

Following a departure ceremony at Caracas' Mountain Barracks, the place where the remains of President Hugo Chavez rest, Perez told Prensa Latina that with this mission, the dream of the Venezuelan leader to help other peoples of the world has come true.

Perez pointed out the public health professionals will stay in Havana for a month to receive the proper training and they will later travel to Ebola-hit nations.
