Cuba and Mozambique Sign Agreement for Health Collaboration

Maputo, January 14 (RHC) -– Cuban Ambassador Raúl García Quiñones and Mozambique's Minister of Health, Alexander Mánguele, signed a renovation of an existing collaboration agreement in the field of healthcare.

Following the signing ceremony, the parties held a press conference during which the Cuban diplomat highlighted the increase of cooperation in this area which translates into an increase of Cuban medical personnel and the quality of services offered to the population in Mozambique.

Quiñones also stressed efforts carried out along with the specialists of that African nation to prevent the appearance of the Ebola virus and the exchange of expertise in this area.

For his part, Minister Mánguele reaffirmed his country's solidarity with Cuba and its Revolution and expressed the government's commitment to strengthen the current relations and collaboration.

Cuba and Mozambique established diplomatic relations on August 27, 1975 and maintain close ties and cooperation in the areas of health, education and sports.
