Havana, February 20 (RHC) -– Nine members of the U.S. House of Representatives met with Cuba's First Vice President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Thursday, local media reported.
Democratic Party leader Nancy Pelosi and eight other House Democrats concluded their two-day visit to the country on Thursday. The meeting with the Cuban first vice president came two months after the United States and Cuba announced a rapprochement and plans to restore diplomatic relations after more than 50 years of hostilities.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the ongoing socio-economic reforms in Cuba, the process of reestablishment of diplomatic relations and the prospects for the elimination of Washington's economic blockade on Havana.
