Washington, February 27 (PL-RHC)-- Cuban and U.S. delegations met Friday in Washington, DC for the second round of talks to re-establish diplomatic relations and open embassies in both capitals.

Conversations began early Friday morning at the U.S. State Department. This meeting follows a previous one held in Havana on January 22nd, a little over a month after the announcement made by presidents Raul Castro and Barack Obama of intentions to restore diplomatic relations.

The Director General of the United States at the Cuban Foreign Ministry, Josefina Vidal, heads the delegation of the Caribbean nation while the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs, Roberta Jacobson, heads the host delegation.

Speaking with Cuban journalists accredited to cover this second round in Washington, Josefina Vidal said that Havana expects answers from the United States on issues expressed during the first round in the Cuban capital.
