Havana, Machr 23 (RHC) -— A total of 27 thousand 378 candidates to local People´s Power bodies have thus far been nominated for upcoming partial elections on April 19.

The vice-president of the National Electoral Commission, Ruben Perez, told reporters that neighbors have held 99, 9 percent of all nomination assemblies, with a total of 46 thousand 300 of those local meetings and that out of the total figure of candidate councilors, over 9.8 thousand are women and more than 5.4 thousand are young people.

The nomination process will wind up March 31 as local authorities will publish the biographies and photos of the nominated candidates for the voters to have deeper background on who to vote.

Local electoral authorities will take training in each district to be ready for the April 19 election.
