Miami, August 27 (RHC)-- According to weather forecasters in the region, Tropical Storm Erika's track has shifted slightly back to the west-northwest. And they say that general motion is expected to continue for the next two days.

The Miami-based National Weather Center says that Tropical Storm Erika is poorly organized and, as of Thursday morning, centered about 125 miles west of Guadeloupe. Winds remain at 50 mph and the storm is currently moving west at 16 mph.

According to forecasters, computer models show an increasing wind shear, meaning that the environment is not favorable for significant strengthening of the tropical storm during the next couple of days. If Erika survives the next three days and reaches the Bahamas, the environment is expected to become favorable for strengthening into a hurricane.
