Havana, September 9 (RHC)-- The European Union and Cuba are holding in Havana the fifth round of talks September 9th and 10th towards a political and cooperation accord.
According to the EU office in Havana, the European delegation is being headed by Christian Leffler, Director for the Americas at the European Foreign Action Service, while the Cuban delegation is headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Abelardo Moreno.
Talks will involve issues related to cooperation and trade with the aim of including them on the bilateral agenda, as well as discussions on the chapter about a political dialog. Other issues to be addressed include civil society, human rights and good governance, according to an announcement on the webpage of the EU office in Havana.
EU-Cuba negotiations opened in April 2014 and since then the two parties have held talks April 29 and 30, 2014 in Havana, August 7 and 8, in Brussels, March 4 and 5, 2015 in Havana and June 15 and 16, 2015 in Brussels.
